The University of Georgia Human Resources department is seeking applicants for an independent and effective Human Resources Consultant, specializing in Classification and Position Management. This role is investigative and analytical in nature, and spends a large preponderance of time researching details surrounding position requests in order to make informed recommendations to Sr. Consultants/Assistant Directors of Position Management.

Position Management and Classification is responsible for analyzing position descriptions and validating staff position requests from across campus. This position spends the majority of time conducting in-depth position evaluations, which includes gathering pertinent information and analyzing the validity/accuracy of each request on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: comparable internal positions, organizational structure, intradepartmental comparisons, and external market comparisons, face-to-face interviews with pertinent stakeholders, and benchmarking to peer and aspirational institutions.

The incumbent will be expected to provide information, advice or guidance and support to managers, supervisors, staff, and faculty, keeping abreast of HR issues, identifying areas of concern, and recommending/implementing solutions. This is a highly responsible position and will collaborate with team members to provide efficient and effective HR services to the university community. This individual works with supervisors and employees to provide accurate advice and consultation to university employees, supervisors, and management. They interpret policies, procedures, laws, and regulations for departments university-wide.
